I have another old photo of me wearing a Red Wings jersey at the age of about 5. I was never a Detroit fan but my dad was a huge Gordie Howe fan (one of my middle names is Gordon - his idea) and he got the sweater for me. I remember him getting a bit angry with me when I asked why he didn't get me a Bruins or Habs jersey, since my favorite players were Orr and Cournoyer.

Cournoyer was exciting. Even at a young age when I was still learning about hockey I could tell that he was someone special. He stood out.
