Habs Season Thread: 2024-25 Regular Season

And as mentioned, this team still ain't great. As constructed, it's not nearly as bad as the Chicago/Columbus/Anaheim teams, but they're not a real threat to make the playoff either.

Shed contracts, trade for futures, keep building, and most importantly, don't skip steps.
Hughes as been clearly that his focus is long term and that he won’t do anything that goes against that. His shortcuts are more the Dach type of deals.

I wouldn't trade Savard either.

I'm a firm believer of needing veterans to teach the young players, especially on defense.
MM is all the team needs

These kids have showed no fear and didnt crack under pressure where they had to lead many nights

You want a vet , a Schenn on the cheap is available every year

Team defense was night and day when Savard was in the lineup so I don’t buy it. Plus we have no depth on the right side and most of our young D are on the left. Perfect partner and mentor.

Ya. No rush to replace him either.
Matheson and Savard I keep around.

Injuries will happen as well.

I have no clue. Why pick it apart?

Point is that guy was making it to the NHL, if not with us then someone else.
