You know how some people here (slightly) exagerate what Arpon Basu is? That is who Ian Kennedy is, times ten.

Ian Kennedy is the stereotype of what conservatives think Liberals are.

That makes it almost sound like the sex wasn't consensual.

Seems like he is referencing the same article. As our good friend BKerr pointed out it does seem like the author is just referencing the actual charge
 
All that said. We shouldn't downplay (or overplay) what he did. But that doesn't mean LM hasn't changed, learned, improved as a human.
 
He isn't saying anything that isn't factual, but conflating what Mailloux did as being anything remotely like the Hockey Canada stuff is going a bridge too far.

The sex and the picture taking during the sex was 100% consensual. The only thing that was illegal was in sharing the photo with his teammates. That's a far cry from gang raping a drunk chick in a hotel room and filming it. You can call both of them "sex crimes" if you want but there's a universe of difference between them.
 
So the sex was consensual that is verified. Was the recording of it consensual? This is something that I am not clear about. If so, do you then also need consent to share something you did record? I did not realize that that was the law.
And if that’s the case, I understand why he would be convicted but conflating this with what happened with hockey Canada? That’s like comparing a bicycle to a car. They both have wheels and can help you go. And? They differ greatly in weight.

Get offended by journalist for using the actual wording of the offense, get called out for it, so in response blame media and hockey culture for getting called out.

Plenty wrong about hockey Canada and hockey culture, that’s not one of those.
