Accruing cap space via the taxi squad shuffle is what everyone is doing...creating as much space as you can is just good business, whether you make a trade deadline deal or not.

putting Byron on the taxi squad saves them more $ than putting Evans, RoMANov, Perry, etc on it

His new contract doesn't start until next year. It takes him from 29-34, I can see the first couple of years being ok, but it's definitely going to be a gamble 32/33/34 with his style of play. Ultimately we'll only know in 2027 how it worked out lol.

Very good player now with a bad contract in 3 years , highly doubt the energizer bunny is scoring 30 a year in his last 3 years
