one of the downsides of having to play only one sport if you want move up the ranks.

Except that most of the "research" says that talented multi-sport athletes (up to 14-15) tend to go farther than than the young kid specialists. They have a bigger toolbox, as they say.

Also a Dr said the other day, the slew of hip issues w NHL players is overplaying the sport from a young age and not diversifying sports to enable other balanced muscular growth
