Athletic prowess doesn't get you very far once you're over 30 and your career has more yesterday's than tomorrow's. Unless he's been spending his spare time taking courses toward a degree, Gallagher will eventually retire, the paychecks from the Habs will stop and he'll be just another ex-jock with no marketable skills, nothing but time on his hands and a wife who is going to get really bored really fast once she wakes up to the fact that, if not for his hockey playing, her husband would be hard pressed to hold down a job flipping burgers.

Yeah, he's got money...for now, and like her we all know the exact date when his last ever paycheck will be cashed. After that, Gally becomes a useless eater. So once she's married and can stake a claim to at least half of every dollar he has (and more than that if she gets knocked up) she already knows the exact date when she will no longer need him.
 
Naw. I expect him to start training young players. Doesn't seem the type to sit still.

Actually, I could see him becoming a media guy. His Tic Toc videos were pretty funny. He's got a sense of humor. He could get paid to talk. And wouldn't it be ironic if both he and PK wound up on a panel together?

Hughes said Newhook will be back soon in the press conference, for those who wonder who we'll play at center. We could also sign Gignac to an NHL deal.

Another option would be to relieve Colorado of a second round pick for Johansen's contract in the hope we can trade him next deadline.

Who care who plays C , season is toast

Bring back Desharnais on a 2 month stint

I would bring up Roy and Heineman and play them the rest of the year with decent top 9 minutes

You know maybe you Nancies don't care who plays center but I would still like to watch some semblance of a hockey game.
 
I'd love to give Gignac a shot because he's way down the list of prospects. Throw him in the water and see if he can swim.

C’mon man…. If you have an expiring asset like Monahan you have to manage it before it goes to zero.

This rebuild was not designed, it was an organic outgrowth of Nero fiddling around with stop gap measures that finally blew up

I have no issues whatsoever THAT Monahan was traded, only WHAT was obtained as an underwhelming return

Nobody is trading an A prospect for a non needle mover, expiring contract

The best you can get is a guy like Justin Barron — you’re favourite player
