I could listen to arguments that we pulled the ol' unintentional tanking thing. We just had a terribly built team with no prospects and a shit ton of money tied in bad contracts - every single one of those contracts was seen as bad, btw - and went through a huge string of injuries. A true intentional tank was Buffalo going after CMD or Leafs Matthews

The question's simple: Since Gorton & Hughes have been here, has this team been intentionally trying to tank? The answer is very clearly no.

Chicago tanking style? No. But otherwise yes, we haven’t even been trying to put up a competitive team since the new management took over. Not sure what more tanking you would expect short of trading Suzuki and giving Allen 60 starts a season.
