What bigotry? Sedgwick is both anglo and competent. It's merely a statement of objective fact. And by the way it was never anglos who made the language and ethnicity of Habs management personnel an issue so if seeking out bigots is your thing perhaps you need to look over the other side of that fence and speak to members of "la majorite" about their obsession. My statement isn't bigoted, it's holding up a mirror to the bigotry of the other side; a reminder that if you're good at your job, it shouldn't matter what your last name is or what your first language happens to be.

A little self-reflection would be useful here. Ask yourself, if we had hired a jew after a muslim, would you say "competent jewish management". If not, what is the difference.

Because French Canadians aren't a race or religion like Jews and Muslims, for starters. And if the Habs ever hired someone from either one of those groups to be the GM or coach you and I both know that the francophone media would lose their minds. Remember that condescending editorial Reggie Tremblay wrote when "Mister Gorton", as he calls him, was hired by Molson? Well what would that column look like if the Habs had hired a "Mister Goldstein" or a "Mister Abdallah"? Tremblay would have a goddamn stroke.

And, not for nothing, and since I am technically French Canadian myself, this gives me...what's the woke definition du jour?...oh yeah, "agency". I can say what I say because I can trace my family roots all the way back to Les Filles du Roi (and even further back to France in the 1500's) It's like how black people can call each other the N-word. As Aaron Rodgers would put it, "I'm immunized".

A simple response that conveniently allows you to avoid addressing my air tight counterargument while engaging in the very type of ad hominem attacks that are supposedly not allowed on this board. Everything I said is justification and none of it was bigoted and (as I pointed out) it is impossible to be considered bigotry since I share the same cultural heritage as those who I allegedly defamed. If you, a person of Greek extraction, had posted what I did then perhaps there would be a case to be made for bigotry but not in mine. I'm "pur laine" enough to have the requisite agency here.

As for my deplorability that's a matter of opinion but I would argue that I am less of an acquired taste than you probably are.
