And if they don't hold up, so what? We plummet in the standings and get another top 10 pick next June. Still better than committing money and term to a guy over 30. Our current roster is not winning a Cup with or without Matheson for as long as he's going to be any good. Dump him, sooner rather than later, and maximize your return.
 
I am in the move Matheson camp. His value is high and the competitive futre isnt likley to include him.
 
When we're ready to compete I want Danault back for a fourth line center fairwell tour. He's Guy Carbonneau of this generation.

It was very odd of Hughes to have talked about Demigods contract situation the way he did … starting to make more sense…. I take it Molson is “negotiating” Demigod’s release from final contract year…
 
It'll become another revenue stream for them. Lock up 16 year olds then cash in when they get drafted.
