HuGo need to tell Marty that his assistants are all getting replaced by more experienced ones. It was dumb to hire a rookie head coach and then surround him with neophytes. Clowns like Alex Burrows couldn't teach a pig how to get dirty. He was a garbage, ECHL caliber player and his coaching acumen is about the same. Id fire them all and surround Marty with more credible assistants.

Been saying from the start that not giving an experienced assistant was a huge mistake. Strangely, not many here agreed with me .

When it’s this bad/systemic it’s both.

The players disgraced themselves last night and their mega culpas afterwards were just vacuous bullshit. I question their willingness to compete and professionalism. I also question whether Suzuki should be the C, but I doubt that matters much.

MSL also spouted empty bullshit. He might get fired. Or Robidas. Or both.

The next move belongs to HuGo, IMO, because neither the coaches or players are capable of resolving matters, that much is clear. Maybe they’re also painted into corner and can only undertake limited measures, but they ball is in their court and this is a test of their leadership.

I’m starting to question Suzuki leadership as well. But also there is a serious lack of overall leadership on this team. Most players seems to be guys that needs constant attention and help, that’s not a good mix.

Yes, Savard is another. Gallagher is a lead by example guy, and Evans has been taking a bigger role, but it pretty ends there. And too many guys are energy vampires.

Coming into the season I was judging the coaching solely on the development of the key players.

Suzuki. Good.
Caufield. Good.
Hutson. Great.
Slaf. Horrible.
Guhle. Good.
Dach. Horrible.

I don't see those as incompatible. You can still try something new and have an experienced assistant. It's not like the assistant is overriding the coach decisions.

Having experience doesn't make you "old school". But when the entire coaching staff is made up of inexperienced guys it's the blind leading the blind.

We keep hearing how there’s no timetable to get back to the playoffs or when the rebuild ends. However I still wanna know what’s the timetable to not be absolute crap where we can watch a game and not be scared to watch because of the potential being horrified.

I wanna know that I can plan a freaking road trip to Pittsburgh or to Columbus or to Buffalo to watch a game live. I am going to be in Tampa the 28th 29/30 in two weeks and I have no desire to see them.

Not asking for a championship level club.

Unfortunately unlike Hollywood, the ending here cannot be controlled (see, e.g., Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings).

The experienced coach would be tainting the new coach with his ideas though. MSL would lean on that coach a bunch. Water wings.

I'm fine doing it now but if you gonna go a new route then go all in.

As long as HuGo are there MSL will NEVER be fired
