Even if it was the right choice not to have taken the Russian (which I still think we should have done despite the risks), I believe there were more attractive alternatives to the Austrian.

Hopefully Habs staff read it better than I did.

I dont think so

Other picks were safe like Leonard but Reinbacher has top pair upside , Pietraneglo lite

Benson is a fine player but doubt they wanted another small player.

Need to wait 3 more years

I would have gone Michkov, Leonard,or Sandin-Pellikka before the Austrian. among those that were still available. After that I was indifferent.

Who knows.

Hello no to Pellikka

League has too many soft small D who dont produce enough offensively

Unless your an elite skater like Hughes with top notch offensive IQ , most guys will be nothing more than tweeners like Sandin

different issue, of course bush was prevalent when I became a man but the question is would you want to go back to that..

Benson was my pick if not Michkov, I thought he was the most dynamic offensive player in the rest of the draft. I know he was small but it's not like we have a ton of talent on offense in our system. After that it was Reinbacher just barely ahead of Leonard.

Benson plays hard as well , no floater

Very surprised he didnt go top 10
