Habs Season Thread: 2024-25 Regular Season

Yeah, he'll come down with a case of Jerrah-itis and decide that because he's rich he must know more about hockey than his GM.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that the team’s play in all aspects (other than the PP for the first 20 games this year) is either the same or worse since the day this management team took over. That’s 3 years to the date almost.

He’s definitely not a genius.

Apparently MSL tells the players to read and react according to “what the game gives them”.

But has he followed the same approach with the roster he’s been given?

They've been busy clearing out deadwood. They've not yet restocked.

We have had a top 10 draft pick in 2016, 2018, 2022, 2023 and 2024 (four of which were top 5- not to mention Caufield in top 15), and got Mailloux 31st in 2021 when he should have gone much higher. We have been bad for a long time, yet seem again to be spinning our wheels. The "competent" anglo management's problem is that their trades of 1sts for Dach and Newhook, who were to be major parts of the team/rebuild, have not turned out well so far. They also have not found a way to get rid of their bad contracts like say the Kings did with Pierre-Luc or even Columbus did with Laine.

Next season it will be interesting to see how they get Demidov and Hage in the lineup as keeping them out of the lineup seems not be a good idea. We also need to stop being afraid to lose Primeau. He's a sieve, he is what he is.

Count this is a 5 year minimum project , you cant unwind the decade of shit left behind by Nero

Chevy was traded in one the worst trades in Habs history and the Koch was a major fuck up

The Dach gamble is a trade you make 7 days a week and the Newhook move was the hope he would be a 50 point player with a fresh start

The picks we gave up may never pan out , not enamored with the trade but it wasnt a rebuild progress stopper

Habs had too many shit contracts they were never going to unwind , at least we got Hoffman off the books

Like I said after the 2025-2026 season is when the tough MOFO decisions have to be made

What stage is the rebuild ? what prospects have emerged ? Who fits long term etc......

Hugo needed the 3-5 years to unwind the shit , dump vets , asset accumulation , and start the framework

Your dreaming if this was going to be anything different right now , and if your not happy dont spend your time or money on them

Worst coaching observed since Mario Tremblay. Another non coach put in a role not meant for him.

I refuse to believe that this roster is as bad as it’s shown. The lack of wins doesn’t bother me as much as the complete lack of competitiveness and overall progress

I doubt that Hage will be in the NHL next season.
