Habs Season Thread: Regular Season 2025-26

Only hockey fans don't want their players to play intentionally, it's dumb af.
Basketball is a pussy sport with a low percentage chance of injury. Soccer is completely pantywaist too. No one outside North America even plays football so no international tournaments there either.

The only manly sport besides hockey that comes to mind is rugby, but international matches are way more significant than league matches in that sport.

It is not dumb to not want your team's stars risking injury 8 weeks before the playoffs.

Baseball too, I think it's a North America thing.

I definitely don't want Caufield or Hutson to make the Yanks team as I don't want to cheer against them. Suzuki sure, but it's mostly so I can get Team Canada stuff with his name on it, so not really for a Habs reason. Slaf is fine as he's on a team that's probably not relevant (I can totally see Dobes screwing Canada though).

Not really the Habs having a prolonged playoff run is more important than Olympics as far as I’m concerned - and I’ve always been a mega team Canada supporter.

Olympics only increases probability of injury let alone wear & tear on Habs core players - this team needs to take the next step these upcoming playoffs and core players are key enablers of said goal
