It’s his job to lose now. I fully expected Fowler to take the starters role by playoffs. Dobes didn’t let that happen. Seems a bit high but not outrageous as cap increases.

I know Sal thinks Fowler is the next coming of Price.....but Dobes's size (vs Fowler's size) helps his case

He made some saves during playoffs that i doubt Fowler would have made due to his smaller size

Sample size is still kinda small, but i guess management thought if he continues his good work into first half of 2026-2027, he would cost north of 7M instead of 5M for 3 yrs
