People are failing to see Hughes & MSLs philosophy…

Man to man allows for positionless hockey that USA Hockey has been pushing to implement within their ranks & expected to ramp up introduction over the course of the next few years as part of their development model. Take a wild guess who’ve been the biggest proponents in the background?

Hughes, MSL and Roger Grillo….

To allow for execution, D group needs to excel in mobility w little to no room for players unable to maintain pace & lacking high end edge work

There isn’t a single team besides the Habs where every D pair has at least 1 Dman who pushes the rush on almost every play.

Those complaining are used to traditional station to station hockey which is totally opposite of what Hughes & MSL are trying to implement

Only time will tell of course if they’re successful, but if they are .. this will be the new trend in NHL copycat league

You dont need to be a heavyweight or take dumb penalties like Wifi

Play an efficient game with good pace and gap control without being overly physical

Ironically enough no one to date “has got lost”, everyone’s been accepting the deals except for open market overpayment for Dvorak & Armia A both said they were ready to sign w Habs until they received the huge offers
