Dallas better damn well win the NBA title this year and next, or this goes down as an all-time awful deal! How do you trade away a 25 year old player who's already, arguably, one of the three best players in the league, for Anthony Davis? Don't get me wrong, Anthony's great, and he'll help them immediately, especially defensively. But he's six years older and has a lengthy injury history. This is just too dumb.
For the Lakers, while they get the next great player for them (from Kareem to Magic to Shaq to Kobe to LeBron to now Luca), the immedate window they now have downgraded defensively (and they were already a bottom half defensive team) and have to figure out how to keep LeBron and Luca happy sharing the rock, especially as they play essentially similar roles. Better get some center help, immediately.
