No Excuses No Limits! The mother fucking goddamn season thread

I don’t like giving up on Lilly but they were at the end of their rope with him. He has had opportunities here and choked them away, and ultimately lost his spot because timmins, whose only a year older, outplayed him.

Not gonna lose my mind on this one even if he turns things around. And even if he does I think he’s a #4 dman at best.

There shouldn't be any complaining about toi tbh.

All the top guys are pretty low but that's mostly because so mamy games have been blowouts (both ways).

I love that we're putting him in a position to succeed before we trade him for his obvious market value of a 3rd round pick from some team that is giving us some other better team's 3rd round pick for him. Kampf should boost those numbers right up, and all the extra ice time, I mean, wow, he should have an impact game tonight for sure.

I wish you didn't put this thought in my head today. I'm already so amped up from Lilly being dumped for trash, and Robertson getting bagged up and ready to the thrown to the curb for the next pickup, that the scintillating thought of Cowan being sent to the junkyard for scrap is just too much excitement for one 24 hour period.
 
Why bother with the Robertsons and Cowans of the league, who might one day be great and totally fucking kill your cap, when you can add Gregors, ZARs, Dewars, and Reaves for CHEAP??

We're so stupid that we even use these first round picks. Why not decline them?
 
It is amazing how the Leafs had a pretty legendary few years long run of success drafting and developing legit young talent. And then experienced a 180 degree turn-around when they graduated a gank of them at once and heaped ice-time and opportunity on them.

Then promptly decided on an organizational level to just never do anything like that again.

Perhaps possibly maybe it's possible that some of these other guys just aren't that good?

Knies shows up, actually plays good hockey, and now is a fixture on the top line.
