No Excuses No Limits! The mother fucking goddamn season thread

Seems to be bigger than just Matthews absence. I don't think he impacts the whole lineup like that.

May be that his absence gave Berube the ammo to get the team to fully buy in though to win without the best player in the world. Or just aligns with the 10-15ish game mark where teams figure out a new system.

5v5

ROR '25: 20gms, 13:40 (-6.1dzs%), 52.6xgf% (+4.1rel), 0.44p1/60, 0.88p/60, 0.66avg, 4.68oish%
ROR '24: 82gms, 13:24 (-8.7dzs%), 53.8xgf% (+0.2rel), 1.04p1/60, 1.86p/60, 1.45avg, 9.26oish%
ROR '23: 53gms, 13:46 (+7.4dzs%), 52.7xgf% (+5.2rel), 1.31p1/60, 1.73p/60, 1.53avg, 8.58oish%
ROR '22: 78gms, 13:33 (+3.4dzs%), 48.7xgf% (+0.6rel), 1.31p1/60, 1.82p/60, 1.57avg, 9.37oish%

ok so the production hasn't been there this year but that looks for now to be mostly an oish% thing, and otherwise his overall game seems to be at its usual level.

and remember he did see a spike in production in his brief time here too. Up from his usual solid 3rd line production level 5v5 up to more of a 1st line level (2.06p1/60, 2.40p/60, 2.23avg, 10.03oish%).

I think I said before... what if Keefe was the issue

I suppose we also now have the coach he played under for five years in St-Louis and won a Cup with.

Don’t love the idea of bringing him back though. If that’s the kind of addition we’re entertaining, find a way to get Kadri back instead of the guy who couldn’t get the hell out of here fast enough.

ROR $4.5 x 3
Naz $7.0 x 5

ROR is not my fave. Imagine if we had to give up another 1st for him? Fuck that.

If they want to retain and take some meager return, then maybe.

except if the season ended today, florida would have the 1 seed.
Why? Is there a rule that says if the season just ends on a random day, they'll use points percentage?

I'm not saying they shouldn't, but you make it sound like that's the actual rule.

That's the written rule for waivers every day yes.

And when the season stopped suddenly for covid, that was the rule they used for playoffs seeding, too. Also the rule they have used in seasons where some teams didn't play all 82gms (i.e. didn't play a makeup game because it didn't make a difference for playoffs seedings) to determine the next year's draft order.

So 100% of the time they need to use the standings when teams haven't played the same amount of games, they use points percentage.

(they also use points percentage when the teams have played the same amount of games - but in those cases there's no difference between points and points percentage so it doesn't matter).
