Some members simply want to win a ruthless political game they've been playing their entire lives, they hate the other side so much, they don't care about the long term costs of their actions (or inaction)

Ethics are not much of a priority in our social fabric. See Wall Street, see Major League Baseball, see whatever field where the stakes are high.

That said —— all of those protestors gathering together in large groups did and does make me nervous as hell.

And although it seems to be panning out that the risk of transmission when you’re outdoors and a lot of people are masked is negligible, that obviously wasn’t really known at the outset of these protests.

Still, there really is no equivalence to be drawn between the cause of the Black Lives Matter protests, and whatever the fuck it is The Donald and his rancid shitstain cultist followers stand for.

It’s also perfectly well understood how dangerous it is to cram 20,000 cheering & yelling people with zero physical distancing measures (99% of whom also view not wearing masks as something of a religious tenet) into an indoor venue smack dab in the middle of a COVID hotspot.

So again, no real honest “both sides suck” equivalence to be drawn there either.
 
There’s likely gonna be violence in and around the rally. The Qanon, militia rager gun bugaloo freaks will be lit, and they won’t need much prompting to get their freak on (even if a bunch of them are confined to their Rascal scooters.)

In Tulsa, no less.
