Iowa is always a chance also It'd potentially help Greenfield over Earnst..

you guys are assuming their voters are unintelligent instead of just amoral and interested in triggering libs above all.

Removal of DST would at least get me to listen or perhaps perma DST. either way makes more sense then 4 months off 8 months on.. But **** it :)

They should absolutely get rid of DST. Beyond time to dump it.

That being said, it's a little late. While you can snap your fingers and make it go away, to coordinate billions of devices to all get updated is not something that just happens overnight.

Most devices already have some method for not DSTing in case you are in the places that don't observe.. (Like Arizona IIRC) also some of the Indian tribes do and don't.. Removing would be easier due to that... My dad's car has a little switch, my car I'd just have to reset the time.. it doesn't know days.or DST. Much like Y2K any mission critical device that can FAIL because the time is off was designed poorly.. Imagine medical equipment that just stops because of a little time issue .

Love DST. As long as working hours continue to follow the old 9-5ish setup, we need it for the summer.

Extra hour of sunlight after work and a 9pm sunset > Extra hour of sunlight before work and a 4:30am sunrise.

So Romney says yes to the scotus nomination, as expected.

The interesting dynamic here is, of course, that the GOP is literally throwing Trump overboard here. They are going to push this nomination through before the election, meaning that scotus will no longer be a motivating factor for the election. Meanwhile, pushing it through will be a huge motivator for the left for the election.

Not surprising, of course, as the Mitch McConnells don't actually like Trump but have built their political lives around stacking the courts.

But I wonder if anyone has let Trump know about this.

They’re thinking more of the 5-4 decisions over election lawsuits. GOP doesn’t trust Roberts and no longer views him as a “conservative”. They’re going to ram someone through that they feel has the same viewpoints.

that's a huge gamble that they can even get it close enough to fight without scotus as a prime motivator for many conservatives.

Oh this is going to the courts. The Dems already have their lawyers and consultants ready and Trump is as litigious as they come. I don’t see how it’s avoidable without a sheer crushing at the polls.

And if they don’t go to court over the election they’ll go after Roe v. Wade.
Which they would do regardless.

oh Roe v Wade is toast nomatter what.

I'm talkig about how scotus issues impact election turnout.

Well yeah, it stands to reason that the GOP will likely lose some enthusiasm once the seat is filled while motivating the Dems to a big win in order to expand the court. They could wait until November 4 to push a justice through but the election likely won't be settled (barring a landslide) on the 3rd. There are many scenarios that could play out but the one that will for sure is the GOP will fill that seat. There's no question of that at this point. If they're going to lose miserably they're going to stack SCOTUS for the next 30 years.

Has the Supreme court ever been expanded before?

Or has it always been the same number of justices up to this point?
