The craziest thing is that this guy we hate with a passion, for a multitude of good reasons, including lots of obvious shortcomings, succeeded in becoming President. One of 45.
How many better candidates tried and failed?
I also don't see how this helps him get extra votes. The folks who thought he downplayed and mishandled COVID aren't changing their minds based on more supportive evidence.
I guess he only cares about his base, and would do anything not to lose any one of them.
It remains to be seen how broken it is -- If I were 18 and could choose any country to live in, I might opt for the US, despite all the grossness.
Well he's white and has money. He good.
Rock solid 40-42% support for an obvious authoritarian clown strikes me as pretty broken....and that's before we get into being the only western nation without functioning socialized healthcare, the endemic gun violence, the runaway opioid epidemic, MIA social safety nets, ridiculous cost of post-secondary education, massive racial tension that isn't going away because of one election, etc, etc, etc.
I mean, you do you and all but it's a "**** you, I've got mine" society where the game is rigged to try to ensure you have as little as they can give you without you and yours going all torch and pitchforks on them.
