OT: Cars

$7500 federal tax credit is nothing to sneeze at either. Now I gotta find out how long the waiting list is. My lease is up in 6 months.

I want to wait and see what the cold weather and reliability, real world statistics are like with the Tesla....but it's definitely on the want list. Not for the car I buy in the spring (looking at S5's, C63 AMG's, and a few others), but probably whatever I get into after that.

Don't really have cold weather issues here. Doubt I would drive that car up North anyway.

I think I just found my next car. This thing looks sweet and is surprisingly affordable for what you are getting. The fact it goes 0-60 in 3.9 seconds too is nothing short of miraculous.

American ingenuity.

Plus you get a great Federal Tax credit on it.
Good for Florida. I wouldn't be caught in one of those when the weather is -30c in Ottawa.

They also have a nasty penchant to go up in flames, by the way. Look it up.

Sweet. I'd like a Audi S anything.

It's crazy how time flies but I've been with my new girlfriend for over a year. Things couldn't be better. I'm not rushing into anything (no wedding bells for awhile) but I'm thinking my next car shouldn't be a sports car, but maybe a luxury SUV just in case things change in the next 2-3 years.

So...do I spend alittle more and get the Audi Q5

Or save some scratch and get something alittle more old-manish via the Acura RDX?

I don't know much about electric cars, but I heard that the battery requires replacement after 7 or so years which costs a small fortune.... something you might want to consider researching before buying :)

even though all these SUVs are starting to look the same, both of these are great.

I'm not up to date on the prices but if the Acura is significantly cheaper I say go for it (even though I'm a huge Audi fan) - you won't be dissappointed with that car. It is pretty slick.

I'm going to lease my next car - and the payment is about $100 a month less on the RDX. I test drove it and loved the power but the drive isn't quite as tight as the Q5. Both have AWD. I like the interior of the Q5 alittle more too, but not enough to justify the extra cost.

Nothing is quite as tight a ride as the Audis, really. They're just excellent cars through and through.

But that RDX is pretty sweet, and does have balls. I thought the interior was pretty snazzy too, myself. The car surprised me in general - never been a huge acura fan before.
