OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

I'm not a fan of war and famine, not going to risk another 100k dead over it on top of those already dying in war and famine.

455 cases reported in last 24 hours.

68 of these are previous positives that just trickled in due to reporting delay (putting "new" positives at 387).

Hospitalization rates, death rates, percentage positive rates coming down. Number of tests completed continue to hover over 20,000 over the last few days.

Things are looking good.

If true **** China. That's pretty much an act of war.

I will admit I really haven't done any research into this, but I've had the thought, if this virus was a move to destabilize the rest of the world while they make a move for more power (HK? was that it?), it seems to be working.

As a side note/question, how has China, other than the Wuhan province, fared? Again, haven't done any research, but most of the data that I see when reading on here seems to come specifically from only that province.

Not a conspiracy theory guy really, so it hasn't been a rabbit hole I've wanted to go down.

Good point , no mention of major cities like Shanghai , Tianjin and other major centers

My main issue is the western hemisphere didnt have to get hammered like China and Europe

Those regions were fukced as the damage was already done

This was a global travel issue that should of been stopped early December

The tin foil hat conspiracy that makes the most sense to me is that the virus escaped the lab, not necessarily that it was released on purpose. Although I certainly wouldn't be shocked if it did release on purpose, either just to test its effectiveness, or China did it to test its internal response to the world, and the fact that it escaped and spread, and that the US especially is ludicrously unable to handle it, was perhaps just a side effect.

Although that being said, as many people have rightly pointed out, the virus is pretty much the absolute worst case for the US - a system crippled by its foundation, a population that rejects science and defies governments, a virus that's deadly enough to cause lots of harm, but with a long incubation period causing asymptomatic carriers, and coupled with it not being so deadly that many will dismiss it as a hoax and continue to spread it. It's practically perfect in its design.

Eh that sounds like retro-explaining.

I think they could have designed a much better virus to get the kind of result we're talking about.

I can’t imagine what a gong show this weekend is going to be up here, especially with York region and the GTA not opening up yet.
