OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

As I have said before:
The USA better hope that when/if a vaccine is created for Covid-19. It is created by an American doctor or scientist, otherwise agent orange and his cult will deem it not affective (or some nonsense through fuckery). At this stage would you put it passed him 🤔

Seems pretty clear that sports leagues should want to re-open in Canada, not the USA.

The US is going to be more friendly to allowing them to open (see: Florida), but also much more dangerous (see: Florida). Canada certainly safer, but it's a question of whether governments and health agencies would approve things.

Trudeau said today he wouldnt stand in the way of sports coming to cabada if an area was confident in the protocols... including reducing the quarentine protocol or allowing multiple locations for quarentine.

It sounds like the Eastern teams are all going to Vegas and the Western teams are going to the other hub, which is rumoured to be Toronto and I gotta say, definitely a little uneasy about the idea of 30+ players, coaches, staff, management and families from 12 cities in the West coming here.

Especially from Texas, California, Arizona etc.

That doesn’t make any sense. They’ll have teams from the South and/or West playing in a city in the northeast of the continent, and teams from the North and/or East playing in a city in the American Southwest?

Why in the hell wouldn’t it be the other way around?

Not a clue. But reporters from the NY area keep saying the NY teams have been told they'll be playing in Vegas.

Maybe they want to mitigate the advantage for Vegas and Toronto as they would essentially have home ice every game.

I get that people don't like masks. I hate them myself. But it's a frickin' pandemic. Where there are massive outbreaks, people need to wear masks, especially now when studies are showing they're more effective than we first thought.

I don't envy anyone the task of having to explain all this to Trump fans, though.

It would help too if those who do wear mask would wear them properly. Though it’s better than nothing, the are supposed to go over the nose not under. Also, they do nothing just holding your chin up.

How does Vegas have enough arenas? Figure skating shows?

I mean, you really only need 1 arena, doing 2 games a day and playing every other day. There's only 4 series for each conference on at a time, right? Slight risk that the early game goes to like triple-OT, but it's not like you have to worry about emptying 20k fans between the matches.
