OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

so here's a question... if you don't have a car, or live within close walking distance of a testing centre, how are you supposed to get to a testing centre?

More clusterfucks from the on govt

Kids don’t need to get tested if they only exhibit minor symptoms, like a runny nose. They can return to school once their symptoms start improving (whatever that means. CF#1).

They probably don’t have covid in these cases - but it can’t be ruled out.

Now, what if their parent catches whatever the kid brought home? Adults who exhibit those same symptoms are supposed to get tested, unless it can be attributed to a non-covid source (CF#2).

Also - they didn’t centralize test bookings (CF#3).

I had to deal with MOHLTC regularly in my previous job and I can’t say I’m surprised....

I have heard through the old grapevine, that PHU can arrange transport.

No idea on what that entails, but it made me scoff.

Was thinking the same thing as I got rid of my car a year ago.

family doctor told me to rent a car, and tell them to disinfect it after cause I might have it.

You guys don't have ride service from the city? They set that up here for those less fortunate. They're using small busses where the driver is separated.

I do live in an area that does have plenty of services. I suppose I should be thankful for that.

I do find it ironic reading all this bs that the USA doesn't take care of it's lesser fortunate. There are programs for just about everything.

There are programs in some places. But not everywhere, and the fact that so many people have no insurance, that insurance is tied to your employment (so that a number of people are essentially slaves to their job as otherwise they wouldn't have coverage), and that so many people essentially have to go into bankruptcy to pay for routine or essential services, it's not hard to understand the comments.

US to me has some things that do approach a utopia, and there's a number of places and programs that truly are spectacular and way better than everywhere in the world. But there are other parts that are unheard of happening anywhere in a developed nation.

Every single state offers medicaid. Every one. In fact they get better prescription coverage than those on commercial insurance because the gov't regulates those prices but lets big pharma screw anyone with an income. The issue is, and always has been, the illegal aliens that do not qualify in most states for obvious reasons.

Was checking my sportsbook and saw this today:

WILL JOE BIDEN BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT ELECTED - 2020 US ELECTION?
10/0700:01
Yes -182
No +157

They have it so that you can bet per state. Individual odds. These Brits will bet on anything.

WILL DONALD TRUMP BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT ELECTED - 2020 US ELECTION?
10/0700:00
Yes +161
No -188

Which is stupid because you can get better odds betting the Biden line than the Trump line for the same outcome.
