OT: NFL thread

They could have called Gronk for offensive PI just as easily. As Collinsworth said it was a good non-call. Besides, it wouldn't have even come down to that if the Patriots hadn't fallen asleep on the last play of the first half.

Romo, the consummate team guy who was ripped incessantly for years despite his feel good undrafted story, acknowledged Dak is the starter. No whining about losing his job to injury.

He is sad but accepts his fate.

I hope he gets a ring with us this year then goes to a team where he will be appreciated by the fans.

I shudder at how bad we would have been in the last ten years without him (cue Wehave you were bad with him). After Carter Stoerner Henson Testaverde, Hutchinson and Leaf, Romo at least gave me hope we could win.

While guys like Matt Ryan, Rivers McNabb et al failed time after time and were lauded, Romo was ripped.

The QB is dead, hail the QB.

Jerry wants to win more than anyone. Win his way maybe, but he wants to win. He knows how valuable the team is without winning in 20 years, a winner dwarfs everything money wise. He did say today he has no plans for Romo not to be there next year, but I would be shocked if he was a Cowboy next year.

Given Aaron Rodgers rapid decline, maybe Romo will go to Green Bay to emulate his boyhood hero Favre, although in fairness, Favre threw way more INTs (including six in a playoff game) than Tony ever could.

Aaron Rodgers rapid decline?

Rodgers is the best thing on the Packers... he's been ripping it up for my fantasy team lately. The Packers defence and running game suck.

I would be too, simply because of how much capspace they could save with Dak & Zeke on rookie contracts. I mean, look at Seattle when they had Wilson on his rookie contract and they were able to load up on defense.

That's weird. The Eagles-Seahawks game, a match-up between two NFC teams, is on CBS instead of FOX.

What's up with that? CBS has the AFC package. FOX has the NFC.

Given Dak was drafted in the fourth round and Krust said you can't get franchise Qbs in the fourth rd, imagine how good the Cowboys would be if they had Wentz....

I said that very few franchise QB's are drafted outside of the first round. There are obviously exceptions like Tom Brady, etc., but the jury is still out regarding Prescott and Wentz. Wentz doesn't have receivers or a RB like the Cowboys have. Just saying.
