I guess Memory isn't a pre-requisim to be a mental health professional. The reason Harper and the Conservator were elected in the first place was to get rid of the Liberals and their corruption that was breathing in every single sectors of the goverment. I think the liberals could teach everyone a thing or two about corruption and how to make it work.

When your leader owns a company and made sure it's corporate office is in the Bahamas so that his company wouldn't pay taxes in Canada, it tells you a LOT about someone who wants to be the leader of the country and this guy used to be our minister of finances for years...

Tifoso, I wonder how you're calculating your tax rate. The highest income bracket in the US ($373k per year and up) is only taxed at 35%. I don't know what your state or municipal taxes are, but you would have to have a pretty terrible accountant to be making that much money and paying 50% of your income in taxes. In fact, income tax brackets are lower under Obama then under Reagan or Eisenhower. Some would argue that the the tax rate is too low with debt spiraling out of control.

Cutting spending makes a lot of sense, but I don't think Republicans have any grounds on which to stand as fiscal hawks considering they didn't do much to reign in spending under Bush while driving the economy into the toilet.

I wish I had my fingers more on the pulse of the Canadian political climate, but from afar, I don't see anything to prevent another minority PC government.

We had fixed elections dates brought in by Harper and his Henchmen but they still called an election last time.

If it is another minority then Harper should be forced out of office for incompetence.

I'm eager to see what the Ignatieff fallout will be especially if the NDP surge past the Libs? Would have to be one of the major blunders in Canadian political history that he might teach to his students at Harvard next year.

BTW, the Conservatives are so great for revamping the economy, money they gave to the Car industry represent $ 450,000 each employee. They should have shut it down and give all the workers a Tim Horton's. Have you ever saw a Tim Horton's close... ever?

In my town their is a protest over a proposed tim hortons. Macdonalds moved in but went belly up.
