OT: Politics & News... Have at it.

I know you are an Israel right or wrong type but please if someone came to your area and said oh it now belonga to X, you would be upset.

The Palestinian leaders have screwed their people much like the jewish elders in the judenrat at the death camps and in the ghettos screwed their people over. That doesn't mean the screw job should be permanent.

The Americans could find a solution but they are afraid of the jewish lobby and even moreso thr christian lobby who want Israel to exist only because if it doesn't Christ won't return.

The supoort the only democracy in the region line is crap as the US has supported a long line of despots all over the world. The US would support Israel even if it became a jewish theocracy run on the law of Moses with the Levites meeting out the punishment.

Don Martin
Hilarious. Even the Great One is backing away from Harper. #99 says he'd praise any Prime MInister who asked.

I am positive in my beliefs that even if you gave the Palestinians there land, the first thing that will happen will be ''outside'' influence use that land to better attack Israel.

Until the Arabs show us proof that they can actually have real democracy, there is no way Israel will give them what they want. Israel is in a constant state of ''war'' with the countries surrounding it. The second Israel becomes ''soft'', it will be the end of them. Big disappoint !!!

So put yourself in their shoes Count....Israel cannot (and shouldn't) negotiate with lunatics.

Muslims and democracy, that doesn't get together in same sentence!
I am not a fan of Jews politics at all but as you said the day( even it won't happen) Jews give Muslims some lands problem starts, generally speaking Muslims like to complain doesn't matter where they come from.

I was like that in my country, i had this i had that, what the fcuk you do then in Canada, USA, Europe, etc then?

It's all about education. Until they stop teaching hate, nothing will change, on either side.

This issue is back to long time a go, i totally understand that Jews raped Arabs and got or bought lands with pretty cheap price(which is typical of jews) and i understand Jews had support of USA and others behind to build such a land, BUT i bet you 100% if Palestinians still had that land, they would sit on it and wouldn't see a bit of progress in that country. Arabs in that area generally speaking are lazy people...

Isn't that an "old world" dilemma across the globe since the dawn of time, which enabled the "new world" (US/Canada) to flourish? Class systems are inherent to the old world - with the ruling class "throwing road blocks" to non-ruling class betterment (though more & more discreetly than ever before).

The root of ALL evil in this world lies in religion - specifically its inherent nature to be a divisive force......

More people have died in the name of God, than whatever the opposite of God is for a given religion.

You must like Sam Harris. I don't disagree with you, BTW.

I enjoy the work of Sam Harris, but he's a bit too hardcore sometimes.

I do, he at least tries to be thought provoking..though overboard at times - suppose that goes hand in hand. I'm actually a big admirer of his thesis advisor at Stanford - Marc Cohen, brilliant neuroscientist & a key player in MRI development & refinement.

they also hide behind religion.

It is like Northern Ireland where they hid behind catholic/Protestant stuff when in reality it was an economic issue. Same in the Holy Land. The perception is the jewish population has all the political and economic power. The Arabs feel they are downtrodden. They might hide behind islam and Judaism but it is really about economic and political power.

Power in numbers for "supposedly just causes" - the only unifying aspect of religion.

It gets him on television a lot. I doubt he really believes what he says with such certainty. He's too smart for that.

I think he truly does, it's probably from his incredibly secular upbringing - even though both his parents came from devout religious families (Quaker-father, Jewish-mother). He said in an interview, he never recalled religion being mentioned once in his family during his entire upbringing....

That doesn't explain Africa....the tyrants aren't using religion as an excuse.

The opposite of God is Money and Greed....and more people have died for that than in the name of God.

Religion at its basis (whether Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, etc) is good and sound. People are imperfect and distort the education coming from religion.

Some religions groups are better at doing it than others. It used to be Christians for the longest time....
