Yes, they can. Archeologists are still piecing together how Egyptian society was organized to build the pyramids, but they can asert that Carson is absolutely wrong and is a raging, foam-at-the mouth right-wing headcase. They were not Jewish grain elevators, FFS.

Archeology does not always tell the whole story.


Having said that, yes I believe that the Pyramids were made by Egyptians. I'm just stating that anyone can make assumptions like Carson, and get away with it
 
They can absolutely discard nonsensical theories, even if a full elaboration of now it really happened is still not fully understood. They are working within a series of parameters in which there is uncertainty. But other "theories", such as alien construction, fall outside of those parameters and are nonsense.

We can date the pyramids and they are no where close (like 1000s of years difference) from Ramses II who was paharoah when the jewish people were there.
