Golf as a sport that could excite the masses began dying when Tiger's wife went through his phone. His 2019 Masters win was it's final make-a-wish.

This whole PGA-LIV thing was just rich assholes fighting with other rich assholes backed by super-rich assholes. Even this new generation of "bad boy" golfers like Koepka and DeChambeau just come off as douche bag frat boys.

It's slightly more popular polo or yachting or fox hunting at this point.

Money always wins. It's undefeated.

In the end, nobody cared that LIV was a contrivance. They paid their players exponentially more than the PGA and eventually the PGA players wanted their slice.

Golf, aside from the hype that attended Tiger Woods, is and has always been mostly a rich white guy sport. It has always been the favorite sport of TV executives, which is why it got on TV in the first place. I never found it compelling as a television show. In a world where young people won't even watch baseball because it requires too much of an attention span, they aren't going to be watching golf.

Televised fox hunting is an outstanding idea.
