OT: The News Thread

Maine's 'lobster lady' Virginia Oliver, who worked decades in the lobster industry, dies at 105

Beloved Costco $5 rotisserie chicken is now facing a class-action lawsuit

Heh. I remember when I first got my Costco membership, I figured those super-cheap and tasty rotisserie chickens would be a nice bonus of the membership.

Though after, on multiple occasions, having multiple days of violent, foul liquid diarrhea after visiting Costco, I put the pieces together and discovered that a minority of the population reacts that way to one of the preservatives they use with their chickens (Carrageenan), and I am one of those lucky few.

So wouldn’t mind at all if they got forced to stop using it. Though they’ll probably just slap on a warning label instead.

Idk where to put this as every thread is a food thread, but here is good.

Gonna take a wild guess that an Italian put together that particular list.

Are they essentially ranking the 'poutine' #65?
Other than kick ass delis, what else can you associate Montreal with as far as cuisine?

From 18,828 cities in our database, based on 590,228 valid food ratings for 18,912 foods in our database, these 100 cities stand out with the highest average ratings for the regional and national dishes most commonly served there.

This is their methodology. Can't argue with that tbh.
