I just looked at Blake's numbers for the first time in a long time...jeeeesus. Yeah, he either fucking hates Detroit and is willing to chew his leg off like a coyote in a trap to get out of there, or he's done.

He had his first dunk in 2 years this week i read

Which probably isnt true but i choose to believe it. Also, that skin tone with that hair colour is unpleasant to the eye

I picture his body as being the equivalent of a 1940s Lada you see in the streets of Havana with seats held in by duct tape and speed holes in the floor

Siakam

2019-20 1st Half: 20.5fga (55.5ts%), 6.3 3fga (39.2%), 4.7fta, 25.1pts, 8.0rb, 3.6ast/2.7to, 1.0st, 1.0bk, 2.9pf
2019-20 2nd Half: 17.2fga (56.4ts%), 5.7 3fga (32.2%), 5.7fta, 22.2pts, 7.0rb, 3.6ast/2.3to, 1.0st, 0.9bk, 2.8pf (pre-bubble)
20 Bubble Regular: 14.9fga (50.7ts%), 6.4 3fga (35.6%), 4.0fta, 16.9pts, 5.7rb, 2.3ast/2.3to, 1.1st, 0.6bk, 2.7pf
20 Bubble Playoffs: 16.5fga (46.2ts%), 4.8 3fga (18.9%), 4.2fta, 17.0pts, 7.5rb, 3.8ast/2.0to, 1.1st, 0.4bk, 3.0pf
2020-21 1st 15gm: 15.7fga (51.6ts%), 4.5 3fga (25.4%), 4.0fta, 18.1pts, 8.2rb, 4.6ast/2.6to, 0.8st, 0.5bk, 3.5pf
2020-21 2nd 13gm: 17.7fga (56.9ts%), 3.5 3fga (37.0%), 6.5fta, 23.4pts, 7.2rb, 4.8ast/1.7to, 1.5st, 0.9bk, 2.4pf

These last 13gms sure seem like Siakam is right back to his peak form again....and arguably even better than he was at the start of last year.

You can see the change in approach - fewer 3 pointers and more free throws resulting from him going back to driving the lane at every opportuntity. But this time now suddenly he's improved into a legit passer - a big jump in assists and a drop in turnovers. that's a new skill for him. and you can see the increased confidence has helped juice him at the defensive end too - more steals and blocks and less fouls. Even better is that he could take this form and just add a few more 3pt attempts (but this time without changing his whole approach), and suddenly he's at a pretty elite level.

but to ME's point, I agree wholeheartedly

encouraging stuff, with the obvious sample size caveats. now he just needs to show he can perform at that high level consistently.

Raptor for life pls.

Yeah, even if we get into a situation where it’s arguably the smart thing to do, I don’t want the Raptors dealing Lowry for futures.

If he decides he wants to leave on his own as a UFA for somewhere else, that’s fine. But when he brought this team its first ‘chip, and is front of the line for getting his number retired and a statue in front of the building, we shouldn’t be trading him away.
