OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Found this on r/raptors...yeah, this was peak 1st half Scottie last year:

Wasn't a fluke

OKC are going to be unbeatable next year.

Yeah that pick swap might be a good one this year. We're getting into the really painful years of that deal now with Kawhi busted, and PG gone.

- 2025 pick swap with OKC
- 2026 1st went to Philly in the Harden deal
- 2027 pick swap with OKC

My bet though is that they do some crazy shit and trade for Zach Lavine. Dude looks good in pre season, Chicago is a motivated seller, the Clippers could package Norm, PJ Tucker's dead money and stuff for Lavine.

Rando news roundup:

- Sengun and Green are both seeking max contracts from the Rockets. Rockets have made offers to both, not neither offer was the max. Sengun is worth it, can't blame them for trying though. They may have to take Green to RFA though and just risk someone offering him the max if they want to avoid that. No sense giving in before he even plays this season though, he hasn't been a max extension type prospect so far imo. If both come out strong this year though, look for Houston to make a mid season trade to cut future salary. There is a 44 million dollar team option on Van Vleet, but I'd be surprised if they didn't opt to trade Brooks instead

- Bronny James had 17 points on good shooting last night. Read that again, slowly.

- Josh Giddey wants 30+ million from the Bulls to extend.

- Suggs is asking similar from the Magic. Deadline to extend is Monday at 6pm. Anyone making fun of the Scottie extension needs their head examined.

- Knicks are waiving Landry Shamet. We could do worse than he or Lonnie Walker as wing depth that can shoot.

- Lonzo has looked really good coming back from missing 2 years with that knee injury. His shooting was a work in progress, but now it looks lights out good.

- Strus out 6 weeks with an ankle sprain

Wouldn't be surprised if there were a few trades this weekend as some teams look to get under whatever part of the cap they're planning to stay under this season.

These max deal requests will result in teams walking away or trades at some point
