OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Ja'Kobe actually looked good. Looked like a weak rookie and he needs to hit his shots, but can definitely play D and knows what he's trying to do out there.

The fight back is encouraging, but we have to figure out how to stop giving up 130.

Obviously ugly start to the season, but with some good news woven in

- Gravy looks like a legit rotation scorer and maybe a complimentary scorer. Still think I'll prefer Brown in the starting lineup and Dick being the offensive focal point off the bench with the 2nd unit

- Some combination of Davion and Shead is a better backup situation than we've had.

- Agbaji has taken a step forward and looks like a functioning rotation body

- Jake has been a double double machine

- Mogbo looks like a functioning rotation body as well

We still need shooting, but the bones of whatever this is going to be when we start getting good again are beginning to show themselves.

Gravy's step up is huge for this team. Now we can actually put a full legit starting 5 out there.

And we've seen enough from the younger bench guys to believe the bench might be decent too.

I actually see Boucher legitimately playing his way out of this rotation on merit and not on whatever weirdo hatred Darko had for him last year.

Mogbo is legit stealing his job as backup PF.

Dick finished -4 on the game. He that bad defensively. Nice to see his scoring come around but he’s gotta get better there. One step at a time.

I want to see what they look like fully healthy. With the lack of defense I still see a team fighting for playin.

Yeah, he's not good at all defensively yet. That's the main reason I want him coming off of the bench as the offensive focal point there. We have lots of playmakers who can get him the ball, but not many shot takers/makers. I don't see the point in have Gravy out there with the only other 3 shot makers we have....if....there's anyone who can fill that wing D + spacing role. I'd like to see Brown and even Agbaji with that unit first, and let Gravy run wild with fewer responsibilities against opposition 2nd units with Davion/Shead, Kelly, & Mogbo (who are all average or better passers) getting him the ball.

Dick is still only 20, I'd like to see him a more complete 2 way player before we jam him in the starting lineup.

How I feel right now...

The starting lineup already has one guy with no jumper (poeltl) and another with a shaky one (scottie). I guess RJ's is good now even though it wasn't in NY.

It absolutely needs more shooting. All the good teams have guys that can create their own shot and be dead eye off ball shooters right through their starting lineup.

The lineup absolutely needs more shooting. Would be so refreshing to see a raps team with scorers all over the floor for once.
