OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

View: https://old.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1nbww1q/aspiration_offered_clippers_almost_double_the/

To recap:

Scam company offered Balmer a huge bag of money that Ballmer turns down to take a much smaller bag of money that Intuit offered (but a much larger offer than Intuit's first offer....which Aspirations scam offer appeared after it was made). Ballmer then turns around and "invests" 50 million in the same scam tree company after they've assisted him with getting 10's of millions more money out of Intuit, and the scam tree company then turn around and sign Kawhi Leonard to a 48 million dollar no show endorsement contract that specifically required Leonard to be a Clipper for 4 years, and was structured to pay out slowly over those 4 years, with the endorsement deal immediately ending if Leonard is no longer a Clipper (because we all know the power of the Clipper brand is worth paying extra for)

This beats the dick right off of the Joe Smith fiasco for the biggest scandal in NBA history.

But Ballmer had no idea, poor guy was bamboozled.

If the fist of god is not jammed up both Ballmer and Kawhi's ass, I don't see how this doesn't become commonplace and more or less lead to the death of small market NBA teams or any team without uber wealthy ownership.

The NBA needs to slam shut this Clippers window (while taking a long ass look at James Harden's endorsement deals) by voiding the contract but placing a cap penalty equal to the contract on the Clippers books, and suspend Kawhi for the year...which, at 34 probably just leads to him retiring.

It's called capitalism and me thinks this stuff happens in all sports .

Honestly, anything less would make the league an absolute clownshow. But I feel like they're actively looking for ways to avoid doing squat about it. What a shitbag Kawhi turned out to be. Unreal basketball player and gave us the most amazing year any Rap ever delivered, but just a jerkoff whether he's the puppet or the puppetmaster between him and his uncle.

Feels like there's barely any noise about such a scandal of this magnitude, and that if they were going to do something, it'd have been done already. Fucking terminate his contract and force him to play for the Raps this year.

Huh? This story literally just broke. There is a thing called innocent until proven guilty, and as such these type of investigations take weeks if not months. I don't think there's EVER been a scandal investigation completed this quickly, honestly no idea what you're thinking here.

Multiple "strategists" (as in, league executives who don't want to be named) are already telling their media mouthpieces that if the hammer doesn't come down on this, they're already starting to eye up shell companies so that they can get in on this.

That's the big thing here. The NBA just can't let this go or teams are going to get really, really fucking good at hiding the money and this is going to end up tearing the league apart eventually.
