Need Kirk to bounce back. Varsho's statcast metrics actually aren't bad, other than an egregiously high popup rate. He's getting hard hits, his LD rate is solid. He's not pulling the ball as much, but that's not a bad thing. His xwOBA is actually fairly respectable. So hopefully he can turn it around.
Kirk, on the other hand, just isn't hitting it hard. His exit velocity is down a lot, and his groundball rate is ticking up, which is very bad news for a player of his speed and stature. For a catcher, he's still fine. But he's not looking like someone you want as a DH anymore. Which is a real shame, since it was exciting to think of someone with a bat good enough to play at DH but that you could also slot behind the plate.
