Thought I'd start another Pens thread and see if I can lure anyone in to comment.
Kind of sad to think that the final days of the Pens "Big Three" will end with a whimper. No playoffs the last two years, and no future to take look forward to. Picks generally graded as a C, and they traded for Kevin Hayes. At least they got rid of Reilly Smith and for a second for him ... in two years.

BTW, I'd invite literally anyone to comment, even Flyers fans! 😜😆

I don't envy the position that Dubas is in. The "right" move is to do a complete rebuild, but can he trade Sid? Or Malkin? There's still a ton of value there... but I'm not sure he would even be allowed to.

I'd imagine that he can trade literally anyone else though. Trading Letang and Pettersson could probably bring in some good prospects and picks. Maybe Rust gets you something.

That's what I'd hope (re: Letang, Pettersson and Rust) but I think that Dubas is in a no win situation: as long as Sid is there, they need to present a facade of contending. But they don't have that team now. And relying on three guys on their late thirties? 🤦

Been kinda quiet until today. Most of the talk the last month is the Pens working out Sid's deal.

Today, they added Cody Glass from Nashville. Hopefully, they get the 22-23 version and not the 23-24 one. But he's 26 and cheap, so who knows?

Seems like a great trade. Trade away a career ECHLer for a couple of picks and you add Glass, who at least had some good potential. Playing with guys like Crosby, Malkin, Letang could rejuvenate his career.

Pens promoted Amanda Kessel yesterday to Manager of Minor League Operations and Asst GM for the WBS Pens. 👏👏👏👏

McGroarty is definitely a better prospect, hopefully they can sign him. If so, this is a really nice deal. McGroarty looks ready for the NHL right now.
