Don’t forget, if you’re going, all gate and parking proceeds are going to disaster relief. If you’re not going, it should be streamed on the Canes website.

The lineup is mostly prospects, Drury, Robinson, Lemieux, Orlov and Walker are basically the only guaranteed roster spots. This is how they skated this morning.

Blake-Drury-Robinson
Nadeau-Suzuki-Grimaldi
Slavin-Brind'Amour-Jaaska
Lemieux-Unger Sorum-Gagner

Orlov-Walker
Smith-Heimosalmi
Legault-Fensore

Perets
Martin

And the power play units only a mother could love.

PP1:
Smith
Nadeau Blake Unger Sorum
Brind'Amour

PP2:
Walker
Gagner Drury Suzuki
Grimaldi

Wow, like lambs to the slaughter with Preds icing pretty much their NHL roster.
Exactly, what a buzzkill for a home game with a full house for the fund raiser, next to no regulars in the Canes lineup and a full slate for Nashville...was not expecting that after the Canes pretty much dressed an all AHL lineup last time out in Florida.

Canes' NHLers have nothing to prove or play for at this point. Roster decisions are basically made and they're just risking BS injuries by playing them at this stage. They really need to knock pre season back to 4 games.

Also ... lololololol at PP1

Perets gets the start in goal. Khazheyev backs up. Martin was slated to play, maybe his placement on waivers is the reason for the change.

Canes down 3-0 early but Unger Sorum went around Stamkos like he was a pylon for the first Canes goal.

Lemieux and Nadeau got late goals to make it more respectable. But the baby Canes went 4/4 on the PK with 13 of the 18 skaters getting time on the kill. But the Canes better hope that Martin clears waivers, or it will be a long season in Chicago if Perets is the starter.

4/4 on the PK is really good considering the Preds were icing their PP1 of Stamkos, O'Reilly, Marchespellcheck, Josi and Forsberg. That PP unit seems pretty lethal on paper.

They hinted last season that another year in the ECHL was the plan for Perets. Chicago will probably go grab an AHL guy off of the pile. I've honestly never seen a single thing to indicate that he's a pro goalie of any type. I know the scouts fell in love with him during his run in college, but that guy's just not a pro player.

That PP1 unit for the Preds of O'Reilly/Stamkos/Marchessault/Josi/Forsberg was about as loaded up as you get...the kids somehow weathered the storm against that powder keg for sure! The brainfart goals came so fast and furious that most of the crowd did not even realize they went in. Had a front row seat for the McCarron/Legault dust up and that was no lightweight battle...some big time haymakers thrown on both sides.
