That smells like a deliberate “no-deal” offer by the Habs. They won’t trade a decent NHL goalie to a division rival, who desperately needs a real goalie, unless they rob them blind.

He’s decent, but can’t carry the load as a #1. This doesn’t look like a serious attempt to make a deal, which might be the whole point.
People said the same thing when he was asking for a first for Chariot. He got a first, a fourth and a prospect.
Maybe we get your first next year on top of Knies.
