Sean Farrell #124 Overall

Yet they pass on Nybeck or Villeneuve? They're throwing crap at the wall.

That may be the case... but this is not the pick that I'd be concerned about. That Jack Smith pick is where they should have taken a higher upside guy.

I'm praying for Brayden Point lite out of this kid. Massive skill set.

I remember loving this pick. I took him in the 2nd round of my dynasty league draft a couple weeks before the NHL draft. Was happy to see him go to the Habs

Interesting late round 2020 draft haul so far: 4th rounders Farrell and Biondi + 5th rounder Jakub Dobes with a .931 save percentage in 23 games at Ohio State, by all accounts carrying the team on his back

Nice parting gift from TT.

I like Farrell, but I'm managing my expectations.

His crazy USHL season was in a year where, if everything was normal, he'd be in the NCAA. Pandemic changed things, wasn't his fault, but worth noting. Because he went to an Ivy league school and they canceled the season outright, whereas a lot of his peers went to the usual powerhouse schools, he was a big fish in a small pond. Again, not his fault, just the circumstances.

His current year, as a late 20 year old, would normally be his first year in pro hockey if he was playing in the CHL, and on top of that, he's playing in the weakest Division 1 conference in the NCAA for a program that isn't known for producing NHLers, albeit with better results in the last decade.

Farrell needs to be in the AHL next season, without fault. He's wasting his time at Harvard, the same way Jordan Harris is wasting his time at Northeastern.

I also don't care about the Well if he was my kid I'd prefer him to stay at Harvard drivel that some here will spew. Either you want to be a pro hockey player or you want to be a student. He needs to choose.

What I want to see from Farrell is gradual progression, which is what we have now. Good. I want to see him in the AHL next year, play a full year to get used to pro hockey and see how he's doing at the end of the season.
