Correct.

Any kind of NTC has no protection against the expansion draft.

NMC’s either have to be protected or agree to waive their NMC.

It probably wouldn't have hurt to pick up one of those averageish RHD. Right now the Leafs have to shelter 2 d pairs which is not ideal. I might split up Muzz-Holl, but also I'm not sure how much that helps.
