The 2019-2020 MotherFucking Season Thread

If kyle is trading for a RHD like Severson to play with Rielly, then it only makes sense to move a guy like Barrie in the process. A lot of value for a guy that would be slotted on our 3rd pair.
 
Barrie pulled the chute and asked for a trade as soon as things started to go south. wouldn't be a surprise at this point if Dubas obliged him.
 
Hope so. He's one of these guys whose numbers make it look like he helps, when really he hurts.

I can't believe how shitty the guy has been. It's zero wonder why Sakic let him go.
 
Barrie is easy to defence. His first step is really slow. NHL teams, as ponderous as they are. At some point they figure things out.

IN a perfect hockey world, he is barely AHL. But hey its far from perfect. This guy is a millionaire, cause if you give him two steps, well shit, he is P. K. Subban plus.

But every coach and GM knows he is Luke Schenn in tight.

He's still a dummy. A good play here and there doesn't change that. Nor does it for Spezza.

Can't move Spezza with all the negative press that would follow, and he's a bit player anyway. But Barrie getting prime time minutes and opportunity on this team doesn't work. If Dubas is doing one thing leading up to the deadline, it should be to find a creative way to move Barrie out while bringing in an upgrade.

Seriously, trade him for a 1st and a prospect. Replace him with some defensive dman going UFA who won't cost that much. Stock the 1st away and move Sandin and Dermott up to eat more minutes, and slot in the defensive dman on the bottom pair. We don't need Barrie. Keeping him costs us a potential great asset in trade, and lets him continue to play more/higher than he deserves.
 
Watch Barrie closely. He has zero first step ability. I would love the NHL to spank this guy, and no one offer him shit, at UFA. But someone, somewhere will.

But he is an open book. If a checker gets in tight with this guy. He is all but useless.

Muzzin was the prize and I respect Dubas for seeing that.
 
Oh my god the media in this city....I listen this morning. What a trainwreck. Our grandmas know more about hockey.
It's funny how the Morgan Rielly injury seems to not even exist in their world or considred yet we heard how 1 injury on D would sink them this year from those same people.
 
I think there are some embarrassed people out there in the media after how they reacted for the previous two days. They are now trying to justify their "world is ending" schtick by doing some damage control. Odog in particular looked pretty embarrassed and Bobo called him out last night after his venomous rant a couple days ago.
 
Media is no different than the average fan. Everything is based on that last game. And a loss means so much more than a win to them.
I get that they are trying to get attention and the most readers/viewers/listeners, but at some point you want to look like you know what the fuck you are talking about.
And I had to laugh this morning hearing Leafs have zero chance against the Bruins. They freaking lost in game 7 the last 2 years with Babcock as coach.
ALL 4 Wild Card teams won their first round series last year but the Leafs will never win a series!!!! You can't beat a Tampa!!! But a WC team swept them!
There are easily 8+ true cup contenders.
 
Yeah as I said last night, the Bruins series last year was the best 7 game stretch they've played in like 15 years. They can flip the switch with ease and turn into an elite team as they showed last night.

Correct. Their third line will no longer be Marleau-Nylander-Brown. And Hainsey/Zaitsev won't lead them in icetime. The only issue last year was special teams and only in game 4 and 7, goaltending.
