The Good The Bad & The Ugly - Round 2, Game 2 - Habs vs Bruins

The first 10 minutes of the third period were prefect. It almost seems like they started to coast...

Coaching cost us the game today. Therrien's insistence on using Bouillon and Eller heavily down the stretch cost the team the win. Period.

Fortunately, I don't think Hab players will be as suicidal as this forum.

The series is now a best of 5 and we have home ice.

Yeah no shit. One of the few times I agree with you.

What amazes me is the amount of people that said they expected a loss today that are now bitching about it.
it is not because we lost but the way you lost the game . giving up 3-1 lead

Bruins will play more of a rope a dope style in Montreal, but we have ways of making stupid gaffes to keep them in the game.

When you play a sit-back system you cannot just turn up the offense with a switch.

The Habs have zero killer instinct and that is on the coach.

The Bruins kept pinching their D even after they were tied 3-3. If the Habs tied the game they would have sat back for the tie.

How many leafs have we blown in these playoffs now. It's going o catch up to you.

Bottom line the bruins are the better team and provide it tonight.

he didn'ask his players to sit back .

The only goal the Habs looked weak on was the 4th when the Bruins had mega-momentum. Carey was brilliant and had zero chance on the first 3 goals. Dryden and Roy would not have stopped those ones.

Unfortunately not all 19 players on the ice played at the same level for the Habs and in the 3rd that catches up with you.

The big worry is the #1 line. The PP goals were nice but 5 on 5 they are a mess.

Weaver, Price, Gorges & Subban were fantastic. Too bad none of them play up front.

This team isn't good enough to give games away and still expect to win the series. Losing one game might not look too bad on paper but it's the way they lost it.

It also does not bode well when you think that all it took was for the Bruins to apply themselves for a couple of shifts and the game was taken away from us like so much candy from a baby. That's the sort of thing that the Habs of yesteryear used to do to opponents: let them think they were going to win and then yank it away at the last minute, crushing their hopes.

Yes the Bruins are a bunch of dirty pricks but they're also a much better team from top to bottom. The Habs haven't changed their own narratice for years now: rely on a hot goalie to fluke the rest of the team to an improbable, miracle win while letting the same problems go unaddressed year after year.

All I know is that Therrien isn't getting fired so it'll be the same ol' same ol' next season too.

Yup.

We were going fine for the first 50 minutes then collapsed. If not for the PPs, we would have been toast earlier. Bah! Just so frustrating to be doing so well, and then give up a couple bad bounces to tie it, and then fall behind. Gotta figure out what to do to avoid that next one.
