Raps/Nets game 7 - Sunday May 4, 2014

Brooklyn won this series because they had more experience than the Raps. That won't be the case vs. Miami.

Yeah but only partially Metal. Brooklyn players were taking some really bad shots as well(they were fortunate in some cases) so you would think that their experience would teach otherwise...I just take a look at the fact a guy like Brook Lopez wasn't even playing(injury) and they had to go with Garnett who's not even close what he used to be(some horrible shots taken, easy rebounds missed...Lopez on the other hand was so huge for them last year. Anyways, other guys stepped up.

Also, does Val usually start for the Raps? Based on this series i just don't think he's that good. Easy layups missed, free shots missed..He didn't look like starting material.

He's 21 years old, and had a great season. Some tough moments in his first playoff series, but he is most definitely starting material at C. Especially in the East.

I'm no basketball fan but even I watched today's game, was on the edge of my seat the entire 4th quarter. The Raptors have nothing to be disappointed about nor do their fans, this team put up a hell of fight against a much experienced team... if they continue to play like they did this series I think a lot of good things are ahead for the Raps.

Yea, the league stands to make more money with a Nets-Heat series.

In all honesty, the Nets are a better matchup against the Heat. Raps would in all likelihood have gone home in 5, while the Nets might take this 6 or 7.

Paul Pierce is a stud.

I am dissapoint.

Hate being a Toronto sports fan. The ending was apropos...great play by Ross and shit play by Lowry. Seems right. Oh well, we weren't winning a thing against the Heat. Still hurts like hell though. Need to get our Vet swingman and another bigman and we'll be right there again, especially if it's someone who "gets calls".

Interesting breakdown of how Casey ****ed it up at the end.

I think Masai looks at this team and signs Lowry but says this team needs a coach to take them to the next level.

KG said some nice things about our players and fans;

Even though the Raptors ended up playing just badly enough to lose, badly enough to take focus away from the officiating...I wonder how tonight's game goes if we aren't pulling so many fouls early?
Oh well.

The biggest offseason need is probably a guy like Vince that will just get all the calls based on rep.

Crazy that two guys who can't play anymore are given the benefit of the doubt like that.

Yeah just like they did this entire season. 0-4 against Brooklyn. Now of course that doesnt mean much now but they usually play tight games and i think Brooklyn's depth will be again the difference maker.

Care to wager Miami kills the Nets?

You seem to forget Miami was sitting D-Wade for 1/3 of the season so he'd be less banged up for the playoffs. Had he played the Heat would have won the East.

Nets are not a match for Miami.

I actually think the younger legs of the Raps would have given them a bit more trouble.

Remember again, Miami is rested while the older Nets were taken to seven games.

We thought this would work in our favour, but it didn't. I was never convinced that this would be a serious issue for the Nets. They are still well conditioned pro athletes.
