The Good The Bad & The Ugly - Round 2 Game 6 Habs vs Lightning

In reality there are a handful of GMs that keep telling us that Pleks in very underappreciated. He is definitely tradeable, and if MB does trade him, it better be the smartest trade he's ever made.

For sure... Pleks will get a lot of interest. I've said for 2 years now that he is a guy that helps you make the playoffs and we will take a hit if we trade him but the hope is that you acquire a playoff type player as Pleks remains one of the softest guys I have seen in a Habs jersey come playoff time.

You can make a nice lateral move trading Plekanec.

If you had the options of getting rid of DD or Pleks, i'm sure every GM on the NHL would keep Pleks over DD.

Just that also means that Pleks can net you the best return in a trade, so that makes him the guy to package in a trade.

Need to find a way to get rid of both AND get value in return. Unfortunately unless MB is willing to take a bad contract back, he won't be able to get value for DD on the market. Will have to wait another year for the expansion draft.

Top 6 guys aren't exactly abundant. Who was traded this year? Perron...Vermette. Neither one would have made a big diff.

He had the whole off season also...I find it a weak excuse when a GM can't address a blatant wekness we've had for over a year.

And the longer he lets the weakness remain a weakness the deeper he puts himself in trying to address it.

Now on top of a scoring top six winger he needs to find another top six winger if AG goes to center

Good luck with that MB

MB has leverage this summer, as in cap space leverage - let's see how he uses it.

Love Gallagher, but he's not a top-6 player, just doesn't have the hands.

He's absolutely a top 6 player....

A top line player? No.... but there is no reason Gallagher isn't a 2nd liner.

2nd liners aren't putting up 60 points anymore.... Gallagher can score 20 goals, which is enough to be the second line RW.

We need a true number 1 though.

Another pathetic failure. A complete and utter waste of a season unless certain people lose their jobs.

We have wasted the best goaltending season in 20 years . I will say it for the millionth time this team is going nowhere with this top 6 and once again the 51-14 duo is utterly useless when it matters and must be upgraded.Need to make the tough choices this summer for major change on the top 6.

I like how Therrien singles out Pleks missing the scoring chance to start the game....

I wouldn't say it was fun to watch. A lot of the Habs games this year were painful to watch if you ask me. Even Jacques Martin had more offensive flare to his coaching that MT. Boring hockey with some great saves by Carey to save the day both literally and visually.

Is that the coach or is that the players.

The only true top line player we have is Pacioretty... then some second liners and third liners.

He isn't stiffling an offensive juggernaut.

This team needs to acquire 1 more true first liner, and hope Galchenyuk becomes our third true first line player.

yes GMs say lots of things, but have a lot of trouble walking the walk. Pleks is under appreciated? That's nice. Now make us am offer we can't refuse If you really want him.

I turned off a few games and didn't watch a number I taped. not a fan of the 'system' of sitting back no matter what the score is. Hard to watch.

big off season coming up...MB can't afford to have the Habs take another step back.

Love Gallagher, but he's not a top-6 player, just doesn't have the hands.

He never was top 6 on a contending team but some think he is because he can put up 40+ points . He is our David Shaw a solid complimentary piece on the third line . He would be a top 10 player in this league if his hands were as great as his heart and work ethic.

No one wants to believe it, but Plekanec is gonzo, he's not a MB, Dudley, Mellanby type player...just isn't.

Why not trade him last year. It's not like he was their "type of player" previously.
