No bad contract is required , 14 will net you some solid value . 51 should net you a serviceable piece you can plug on your roster , we aren't trying to move Clarkson here. Phoenix has Fk all at C even when add Strome in the draft. They need a filler and we have 1 to give.
Its all nice to move these guys but who replaces them?
We can replace DD by AG next year with some growing pains but who can you get to replace Pleks?
Shit happens in the playoffs and anything can happen but when certain so called core players underperforman every effen year when it matters change is required, and if our GM can't see that then he has lost his mind. He has had ample time to assess his roster .
It's our GM 's job to figure it out DK , I think it's time to give Eller a bigger role not suggesting you plug him into the 2 spot but we aren't trying to replace Bergeron here . Pleks has failed again when it matters , is approaching his mid30's and is a year removed from UFA . We have cap space and some depth pieces to move , it's doable .

At some point even on video games when your fantasy team fails in a playoff simulator you make changes. Like I said we have cap money , players and some depth to make it happen , no one is giving you Sid but upgrades on the top 6 must happen or get used to the same shit every playoff year... a nice tease but no finish.

I am fully prepared to take a hiccup pause for winning down the road absolutely XPO, as long as we see progress and the right moves to get there . But I will not tolerate the same BS every playoff with the same fked up disappointments only to read others saying " how can we find a replacement for this guy , etc.. " . We can't question the need for change at this stage , we aren't good enough to win anything right now.
We are the Habs we can't accept this result , it's accepting failure.
Someone took the prize out of a 4 year olds Cheerios box look Sal , visibly upset , the whole brass looked like they lost their puppy. Hopefully those $1000 Prada frames were seeing what needs to get done in the summer.
