The Good, The Bad & The Ugly - Game 6 - Habs vs Wings

Fleishmann looked like a solid regular tonight... a veteran player who knows what the coach wants each shift he is sent out there.

I was referring to just one game... ya know... hat trick, five points... terrorize the other team. He has all the makings of being a very good, consistent player. Just needs some real help on RW, as noted by Krusty.

It may be early in the season, but this team is for real. Lots to appreciate. Price is playing like last year, but is not forced to bail us out. Petry's pairing with Emelin is allowing Petry to do the puck handling and Emelin to play physical and inflict the pain on the opponents. Three lines of scoring. Desharnais anchoring the third line and with him facing the other team's third lines he looks a lot more comfortable in his role and less over matched. Semin is slowly improving, in fact, Mrazek robbed him of a goal in the third. Highest number of goals scored in the league (20). Best +/- differential (13). Even the anemic power play has shown signs of life.

The Habs are back!

With the new nhl and overtime and shootouts, a lot of records have been artificial.

Not the Habs, every win has been in regulation. That's impressive.

I was really wondering how they would respond after being down by one but they really turned it on and in the third period there was never any doubt. Weise could have had a hat trick tonight. I know the wings played last night but this team looked like a well oiled machine tonight, everyone contributing and knowing what their role is...

Marvellous. Last year I thought we would be serious Cup contenders. This year, I was not enthused at all . Got the years mixed up maybe, that's all. We cannot run out of gas this year. Subban, Price, Pacioretty......they may be a trio no one can now match, who knows.

So Tuesday is our next t-e-s-t
In reality it probably is:
- play more of a puck possession game...check
- limit reliance on Price as key factor of the game....check
- force the skating game & dominate the opposition.....check
- be ready to go at opening puck drop....check
- respond positively to the opposition scoring he first goal...check

all that remains is to force the speed, skating, puck possession game vs a talented team who play a "heavy game"...STL

Although the Habs played well against the Blues last year. Blues couldn't handle Habs speed.
