GDT: Canadiens @ Anaheim Ducks - Wed Mar 2, 2016 - 10:00 pm ET

WTF knows, but listening to MB on Melnick the other day...the GM & coach don't seem to be drooling over themselves over the thought of having Galchenyuk, and Freidman seems to be convinced he'll be dealt at the draft....

It's OK to trade him, as long as they get someone exactly like him back.

Chucky for Drouin at the draft? I think Drouin's upside is higher BUT . . . he hasn't done as much as 27 has to date. Tampa will need to "replace" Stamkos and 27 could be that guy. The will also feel the need as mucg to acquire a right D in the off-season. They needed one for the playoffs but did nothing.

Would I trade 27 for 27? No . . . but MB might.

That is gone be stupid trade. No way, Chucky for RNH yes but not Drouin.

Morgan Ellis just took a long time to develop and I don't know why. I don't know if it's because he was out of shape, or if it was because he was battling injuries, or had off ice issues, but whatever the case is, his pro career was going nowhere until he went to the ECHL last year. Went to the ECHL, rediscovered his game and his career has since gone up.

Morgan Ellis is a lot like Josh Gorges. Doesn't quite have the heart that Gorges has (But really, who does?) but they do a lot of similar things.

Isn't he much better offensively than Gorges, his number say that at least, both in junior and lately in AHL.

AHL numbers rarely translate for defensemen. Remember, Mike Komisarek (at three years younger, granted) had some similar numbers to what Morgan Ellis has.

Pateryn had some pretty interesting AHL numbers the last few years, and he only got his first NHL assist a few days ago. It's a completely different beast.

That's the interview that put me right in Habsy's camp. They don't see Galchenyuk as a center and tonight is further proof. He's being centered by someone who's only scored two goals in nearly two months... in the AHL.

Well i am not saying he will be next P.K and what you are saying is true in case of Pateryn but Pateryn only really offensive season was last year in AHL, other than even in his junior hockey years he wasn't that offensive, kind of same for Komisarek, anyway we should wait and see him but i am sure he is better than Gorges when it comes to offensive play.

it is clearly an organizational decision.

I wonder why this guy wasn't called up before? He has pretty good numbers this year, 12 goals, 31 points +8, decent size, what is wrong with his game then?

Ellis is a relatively late bloomer, he just earned this now.

no way do you trade 27 for Dick Drouin , fook that idea

Ellis has better puck skills, shot, fight more than Gorges, but is likely footspeed or/and decision making holding him back. Am quite curious to see how he does vs Ducks, as Bartley looked bad.

Same here.

If Deadmonton wins the lottery again, he should offered up to be McGeezus' winger.

Was just looking at standings.....how in the world can Edmonton only be 3 points up on Toronto ? Eberle, Hall, McDavid, Yakupov, RNH......Toronto has nobody in their lineup !!!! Playing in a stronger Western conference doesn't help explain how they are only 3 points up on an AHL team (Leafs)
