OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

The problem with all of these, and antivirals in general is that they are most effective in the very very early stages. This drug will most likely not help one who has to be admitted to the hospital.

Gilead Sciences drug remdesivir may help treat coronavirus symptoms, according to WHO

Shares of American biotech firm Gilead Sciences rose nearly 5% Monday after an official from the World Health Organization said that Gilead's drug remdesivir is showing signs that it may be able to help treat the deadly coronavirus.

Positive results on the one drug they can already point to as having a history positive results has me feeling positive.

Just a heads up, some car insurance companies are offering discounts for people that have reduced driving during Covid isolation. I'm not sure exactly how much I'm going to save, but I just submitted a request to Belair Direct on their website.

Do you have to request this? I think Allstate was doing it automatically in the form of a small refund in May.

It probably varies as it's not like there's any law forcing the insurance companies to offer discounts. We all know they don't like giving any money back. I'd just check with your broker or on the website of your insurance provider to be sure. Belair sent me an email and I had to submit the request to be eligible.

Interesting...a friend of mine had them do it automatically, but not ours so far, I wonder if they have this up and just don't tell anybody?

They’re also referring payments for a couple of months here in the states.
 
With how fucked Iran is right now, it’s a real shame this thing has thus far failed to take out more of Iran’s senior theocratic leadership. Would have been a bit of a silver lining.
