I don't understand why they'd want to have to create this issue for themselves.

Yes. Lehner has been a stud in the playoffs for the most part.

No he didn’t?

Burke wasn’t the GM yet when we drafted Schenn. It was interim GM Cliff Fletcher running the show in that draft. Burke arrived halfway through the next season.

And they weren’t in the same draft either. Hedman went 2nd overall in 2009 (Burke picked Kadri at 7th in that draft) and Schenn went 5th in 2008.

Well, that's annoying. I guess that's when he had all that bluster about acquiring the Tavares pick.

what a blowhard. lieweke's tenure was short lived but squeezing out burke was a huge win for this organization.

Well, they did go to 7 against the Canucks with Lehner putting up a .934 in 6 games (3 shutouts) with Fleury putting up a .903 in the 1 that he played....so yeh, probably.

If Lehner manages to win the cup they're resigning him. I have no doubt in that and coming off a cup high Lehner would probably be agreeable.

Good luck moving that Fleury deal.

Watching TB has me seeing Vasilevski as a big time stud goalie. If Askarov is on that level sign me up for that. Obviously a great team in front of him but damn he covers up for any of the mistakes they make defensively.

I know the trend of the day on this board is to go cheap but damn having a legit stud back there could propel us to true contender status.

He is the best goalie right now imo. I'm not big on giving huge deals to goalies, but he got his at age 24. Much better than the Price and Bobrovsky deals.

Among goalies with ~25+ games, he ranked 39th on GSAx this season (slightly behind Mike Smith and Brian Elliott).
